The kidneys are the one the elementary organs inside the human body. Generally, the kidneys are in a pair and they positioned at the back of the abdomen, below the diaphragm, one on each side of the spinal column. Each kidney is covered or encircled and protected by a renal capsule this is also called an outer layer which is smooth, transparent, rubbery membrane and it helps to preserve the shape of the kidney as well as protecting it from harm. The primary function of the kidneys is to filter impurities from the blood. These impurities are evacuated via urine.

The roots of chronic kidney failure are not always recognized, but the most common causes are associated to high blood pressure, diabetes, prostate disease and kidney stones.
